I Had It, But Did I Survive It?

Now, you might be wondering, did he really have covid? Is this article a scam? Well, this is what the article is about. If you believe it’s a scam, then you might want to read on, because it will all get explained in the story. Read to find out!

It was around a week before my birthday, which was on the 2nd of August, and my mom came down with a small fever. I didn’t worry though, thinking that it was a small flu, or the regular cold that she caught. We all were living life normally in quarantine in the city of Bangalore, India playing games and spending time together. But when me and my grandma too caught the fever, we got a bit worried.

On my birthday, I thankfully didn’t get affected by the ‘flu’. I had it in me, but I didn’t show symptoms. But suddenly in the evening, my grandpa got it. Then since my mom was the first one the get this flu, she went to get a Covid check-up done, just to be safe and follow the guidelines set up by the Indian government.

At this point we didn’t know what to expect. We knew something was wrong, so we knew that we couldn’t expect for the best. After all, it is what it is. Nothing can be undone.

Now, at this point, y’all know what’s bound to happen. I mean, since you made it here, you must have read the first paragraph. You might know what is going to happen. But since I am a nice guy, I will explain to you all that had happened. And there really isn’t much to explain.

When my mom got back from the test, everyone started shooting her with questions. Unfortunately, she said that the results of the test would be given 48 hours after the test. Well, ok. No problem. Don’t think about for 2 days. 2.

That will be easy.

So instead of boring you with what I did for the next 48 hours, I will skip right ahead to the point where my mind was getting a very big headache over the results. (The symptom I had was also a headache that day. I couldn’t do anything except rest).

So the news came in at around 10 in the morning. The day so far was very dull, for my splitting headache wasn’t going down. I was pretty sure that headaches were not a symptom of Covid, so then I was pretty sure this would go away soon. It’s just the summer flu, I said to myself. Then my mom got a call. She was very eager to talk to the hospital, but I could tell by her expression that she passed the test. She even looked positive (Get it?).

This wasn’t scary to me, it was actually kind of cool. The viruses that I have had before Covid were all minor, the biggest from them being pneumonia. So this was new to me, to everyone in my family. My mom said that the virus stays in a person’s body for around 2 weeks. She was right. But at that moment, I knew that I was victim of one of the most famous viruses of the 2000s, and I was pretty positive about it (Get it again?).

So long story short, my aunt, my grandparents, my mom and I got the virus, but up to this date, we never found out where it came from. We checked up all the drivers and people we met recently at that time, but no one was positive.

I hope that if you are reading this, you are in a safe place, and that you are healthy and happy with your family. But that’s all from me for now. Stay safe!
