Lockdown Knockdown  – My Story of Quarantine and Some Motivation
By: Raaghav Anand
It’s been more than 3 months of online learning and finally, middle and high school has returned to campus. It’s delightful and rejoicing to see everyone at campus again, but what about those who are still in quarantine? What’s it like for them?

While the schedule and routine returns to normal at AISG, students and teachers remain scattered all over the world, waiting to return to China as soon as possible. Even though half the school is not at campus, it doesn’t mean they can’t stay in touch. Zoom meetings and Teams calls are scheduled so that those at home can have an in-class experience while being at home. But outside calls and meetings, what is it really like staying in one place the whole day?

I know what this feels like, for I am outside China in my grandparents’ house. There are limited resources, and I don’t even have my computer with me! But apart from schoolwork, there are many other things you can do. For example, this is a great time to spend time with family! Instead of avoiding each other at home, do stuff together, play games etc.

You can also try something new at home. This is a great time to get creative in quarantine. If you always wanted to do something (ex:juggling), now is the time to try things out! Don’t have the materials? Then you can view the wonders of the internet. It is full of ways to make materials you don’t have out of stuff at home.

There are many things to do at home/quarantine, and I have only listed a few. Go search up “Things to do in quarantine” and you will find many options on what to do.

Let’s get back on track. Since the school year is ending, all of the assignments that have been posted from your teachers since February will be due very soon, and just because summer is coming, doesn’t mean you should sit back and relax. Now is the time to finish your schoolwork, not to sit down and procrastinate! If you leave something for too long, you won’t find the time to finish it. So the moment you get an assignment, schedule when you want to do it, instead of pushing it aside for the future.
