The Miscalculations Of Lightning Girl

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Lucy Callahan was struck by lightning when she was eight-years old. By climbing a metal fence at the wrong time and place, she ended up being a savant, furthermore a math genius. She was homeschooled by college websites for three years before one day, her grandmother that she lives with, decides to send her to public school for a year. She tells Lucy to make one friend, read one book, and join one activity. Lucy thinks this is a bad idea and she what she could possibly learn in seventh grade when she was ready for college. Turns out, she was in for a lot more than she expected.

She tumbles into school, harassed by other students about her weird habits that had developed after she became a savant. By what she thinks was pure luck, Lucy makes a friend, named Windy, and she helps Lucy become more comfortable with going to public school. As the plot unfolds, Lucy decides not to show off her genius level math skills and pretends to be normal, getting answers for math tests wrong on purpose.

More drastic changes appear in her life as she prepares for a project that this school has every year. She struggles to sustain her friendships while keeping her phobia of germs in check. This book is entertaining in all sorts of ways, with characters that make you laugh and smile and others that causes you to relate to your own school life. One of the main reasons that I like this book so much is that the characters’ ages are similar to our own, and what they experience are almost the same. With depressing breakups, heartwarming reunions, and Lucy hiding her powers at all cost, I believe that this book deserves five stars.
