What Happens When You Make a Slight Change in Your Lifestyle?

Have you been feeling drowsy? Feeling completely drowned in schoolwork and other activities? Students all over the world are having trouble keeping up with school, soccer, homework, volleyball, and other after school activities. Now, it is taking a huge toll on student’s health. But there are ways you can not only keep up with homework and other activities, you can also get more sleep and be a healthier human being.

About 72 percent of children ages six to 17 sleep with at least one electronic device in their bedroom, which leads to getting less sleep on school nights compared with other kids, according to their parents. Everyone, every once in a while, can get overly distracted with their electronics. Apps like Instagram, Netflix, and YouTube can become addicting. With this, people can get preoccupied with liking posts and watching videos, that they hold things off till last minute. Speaking from experience, procrastination is a big problem for students these days. Yes, we need to have a break every once in a while, from homework and other work, but it can be a problem if we do it too often. I did an experiment of my own, I got all of my things done before going on the internet. I didn’t just get more sleep, but more time. Then next day, I found myself getting projects done faster, and understanding concepts quicker.

Lastly, you need to have a healthy balance with meals. For example, if I get a plate of pizza and ice cream, I won’t feel very good the next day. Your body needs nutrients. Even if ice cream, chips, and candy seem appetizing, you won’t feel very good in a couple hours. You need to get a good balance, like a filling main course and a healthy appetizer. I’m not asking that you eat a couple carrots and be done, that we leave you feeling hungry and sick. You should always have a very filling meal, like noodles or even pizza. But you always have to have something healthy, like a vegetable or fruit. This won’t just affect your health, but your grades. Kids from the ages of 6 to 19 are at least a little dehydrated on a regular basis. Did you know that when your brain is even slightly dehydrated it performs 10 to 15 percent slower? This proves that staying hydrated also affects your grades.

Students need to have a healthy balance, to make them a healthier person, and a better student. To get more sleep, you should keep your electronics out of your room. If you do your homework in your room, I hope you will consider finding another place to do your work. It can be extremely tempting to go on the internet

when you have a pile of work to do. Food can be a big help as well, keeping a balance between fruits and vegetables, and other foods. These two things can affect your mood, health, and grades. Sometimes, staying up all night won’t help you get an ES or A+. With getting more sleep and a healthy balance, you can be a happier person. Your mood can change with a slight change in your lifestyle. You can easily be a be a better student if you follow this advice.
