15 Reasons Not to Be in a Play is the most recent play put on by the middle school Black Box.  It was performed on October 17th and 18th from 6:00 to 7:00 PM.

Students audition for roles and was made with lots of practice, time and commitment from students. Some of the students were interviewed.

In an interview of Chloe in grade seven, who acted in the play, she states how she feels that the play could have more props and costumes. Now this being a Black Box production, the play is supposed to be only students with no sets, costumes or props. But sometimes we really do want some fun.

In an interview with J’dore in grade seven, she stated how she is more confident now than from the auditions. During the auditions she was worried about having an audience. But during the interview also stated how she feels different now somehow.

In an interview with Clementina in grade eight, she claims how this is her second year of drama at AISG. She still feels a little nervous but not scared. She has some experience with theatrics so that helps her cope with nervousness.

Our final interview was from Clara in grade seven who said how while practicing the actors can get distracted with makeup, silly parts, and having friends to practice with. She also said how she was a little upset with how some people got multiple parts with long lines, while others got one short line. As one of the ones with little lines, this was unfair. Later while practicing this got better but wasn’t ignored.

All these actors have multiple different opinions on the play and different experiences. Even though they were all in the same group, not all of the perspectives are the same. This is behind the scenes of 15 Reasons Not to Be in a Play.
